I'm so excited ... my Loose Button Luxe box has finally arrived!!! It was supposed to arrive on Friday, however, because of a strike by our local postal workers, it didn't arrive until today.
For those who aren't familiar with what a "Luxe Box" is, it is an innovative beauty subscription service from Loose Button that allows customers to try beauty products in the comfort of their own home before buying them full-sized. Each month, subscribers receive 3 to 5 deluxe-sized beauty samples packaged in a chic box. The samples range from skincare and makeup to fragrance, body and haircare.
So what did I receive in my "Luxe Box"??
Left to right:
~ Elizabeth Grant Lubricating Body Treatment
~ Elizabeth Grant Biocollasis Gentle Cleanser
~ Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara
~ Principessa Ultimate Softening Shampoo & Conditioner
~ Bonus gifts - yellow Daffodil pin & a small swiss milk chocolate
Would I recommend this?
Definitely - I am very pleased with my Luxe Box and have signed up for the 3-month subscription. They have some great upcoming brands listed on their website and I hope they mix it up a bit in their next shipments. I am especially curious to see what the next one brings.
If you're in Canada, be sure to give Luxe Box a try!

A quick trip to Burbank ... part 3
War of the Worlds ...
... Then we headed over to the Prop warehouse (this place was friggin' HUGE)
... all the furniture was on the ground level
... the actual ET from the ride that was at Universal Hollywood sitting on the Emperor's throne from Gladiators
... the 4th floor of the prop warehouse (I could have spent hours in here)
... to be con't

A quick trip to Burbank ... part 2
... continuing on the tour
... the old west (these are actually some of the oldest sets still standing at Universal)
... this area is supposed to represent "Europe"
... now, can anyone can tell me what scene from a very famous recent movie was shot at this location?? ... hint ... it's a Disney movie ...
... the Jaws part of the tour (basically as the tram drives by the shark comes up out of the water - Orlando's is MUCH better)
... this one you can see the tram path around the water
... the set of Desperate Housewives
... and, the most exciting part of our tour (at least for us)
... and yes Norman came out as we were getting our picture taken
I should mention that this is NOT part of the regular "studio tour" you would do if you were just visiting the parks - one perk of the VIP experience is being able to actually get off the tram and walk around some of the sets (and other places such as sound stages) that the normal studio tour doesn't allow.

A quick trip to Burbank ... part 1
A few months ago, hubby decided he wanted to head to Monsterpalooza. I thought OK, as long as we could go down a day ahead so that we could take a trip to Universal Hollywood
... this is that weekend ...
Just so you know, I haven't done any post-processing on any of these pics so you'll have to view them right out of the camera ;)
... leaving the San Francisco airport for Burbank:
CityWalk - interesting thing about CityWalk in Hollywood is that you don't walk through it to get to the parks - it's off to the side of the main gate and you could very easily miss it if you didn't know it was there
Because we were only there for 1 day, we decided to book the VIP Experience ...
... the VIP Tour lounge (set up very similar to the one in Orlando)
... Universal Hollywood:
... the view of the lower lot from the entrance to the studio tour:
... getting on our own personal tram:
... starting out on our tour - following one of the regular studio tour trams:
... passing by the stage where they film "CSI"
... the guide couldn't tell us what was filming in this location but you could tell it was set in the 1940's/1950's
... the Lyon Estates gates from BTTF
... this area is supposed to look like old Mexico
... which they can flood at the touch of a button ...
